Proposal for Rheem: Design Thinking Masterclass with Holly O'Discroll and Dr. John McKeon
Our Methodology
As we were founded by doctors, keeping people healthy is at the heart of everything we do. We also apply the Socratic method to our business solutions.
We use the framework of Business, Users & Technology to understand your goals.
Medical diagnosis and treatment is very similar to best practice, Design Thinking, and innovation success principles.
Therefore we always follow these steps.
- Listen: We carefully listen to our clients to discover known, unknown, or unmet needs.
- Investigate: Order some investigations or tests, our radar scan, or the propulsion test.
- Treatment Plan: We then define the best treatment plan for your success.

What we do NOT Recommend
You may think you want to pay us just to slap our logo on your finished product and that you have a fully formed go to market strategy.
That is not how we operate.
We are NOT a "pay for play" and do not work with companies focussed only on a single ROI financial metric.
We work with companies who believe in scientific excellence, purpose and impact.
We want to work with you if you share our values of:
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Environmental Social Governance (ESG)
- Creating Shared Value (CSV)
- Scientific Excellence

What is the strategy Rheem needs to have success with this customer cohort?
We believe that the most successful product development cycles involves 2 steps.
- getting your product "to the shelf"
- getting your product "off the shelf"
It also must be strategically integrated with your People, your Product and your Processes.

Our systematic, timeline based approach, will give you the best success outcome.
Our 7 Pillar of Success process has been built on sound foundations and a proven best practice pathway from over 20 years experience of product launches targeted at the "asthma, allergy and air aware" consumer

The first thing a good doctor should do is listen
We listened carefully to where you are on your product success journey as it relates to the ASL 7 Pillars of Success.
After hearing your story we have created the following development plan.
You talked - we listened!
Rheem's patent on the RM3 was recently approved and you are looking into paths to commercialize, including doing a deep dive into the science behind gathering, treating, and then expelling air above and below the breathing zones
Rheem is interested in leveraging the joint expertise of Allergy Standards Limited and Holly O'Driscoll as an Innovation Partner in industrial design to approach the RM3 from the vantage point of the multiple solutions that the technology could offer to the asthma and allergy community.

Proposal Purpose and Scope
We now all live in an "Air Aware" world. Asthma, Allergies and now COVID-19 have made the invisible, (i.e. the air we breathe), "a visible" issue. Just as we say ‘Bless You’ as a hangover from a plague over 300 years ago, COVID will change customer perceptions for many years to come.
Design thinking is a powerful process of problem-solving that begins with understanding unmet customer needs. It is the exact tool we all need to apply to our existing products or our innovation processes as we build back better. By placing customers' needs, that specifically relate to those concerned about healthy indoor air, at the center of a product, service, process, or business model, you can reframe this strategic challenge and develop effective solutions for a post COVID-19 world.
This workshop specifically targets the insights that emerge when considering healthy products and services for healthy air in a healthy indoor environment.
Companies who apply Design Thinking approaches for products and services that can impact on a healthy home and healthy indoor spaces will see their success rates improve substantially.
The new frontier isn’t AI its AI(r)
